Vladimir Sterescu, CGS: ‘In my opinion, unfortunately, this entire economic growth we are facing is driving into a black hole.’

Employees in the private sector had average salary increases of 4.5% this year, according to the latest study by Mercer consulting company. State employees had wage increases of 21% as an average within the last year, according to the Statistics data.

‘In my opinion, unfortunately, this entire economic growth we are facing is driving into a black hole’ (…). I am not saying that the salaries of some state employees should not be aligned or indexed, but there is no restructuring, there is no vision and no attempt to reward the performance of the state employees’, states Vladimir Sterescu, Country Manager of the CGS (Computer Generated Solutions) supplier of outsourcing services, a company with 3,100 employees. He claims that, last week, it was the first time when he had four requests from state institutions asking the company if possible to give unpaid leave to some employees for an indefinite period.
